The Line

The Alfinmarsh line has recently had the very successful Deepfleet Line injected into it. Which means, from the father onwards you have Field trial champion after Field trial champion. Our Line already had many Field Trial champions, but when we looked at stud dogs for Mia(unable to use Alfie being her father) the Deepfleet Kennels stood out for us. With Mia being a sweetheart to me, and the type of dog you could shoot over all day we felt Ftch Deepfleet Jay would make a good pairing with her. If Mia's last litter is anything to go by, we were correct.

Health

All our dogs have had a full, in depth eye check, which they passed with flying colours. Poor Alfie was put off vets for an awful long time because of these tests but now, once again, he loves them.
Alfinmarsh Andromeda (mia) has had a full list of blood testing done, again, she past with flying colours.
And with us having the grandparents, mother and daughter here, you will be able to see for yourself how healthy our dogs are.

Early Physical Development

Both Bella and Mia have been very loving and caring mothers, and for the first few weeks of the puppies life, the love and bond with their mother and litter brother and sisters is all the puppy needs.

Usually about 3 weeks of age, we enrich their environment, with toys etc. This creates plenty of chances for playing and socialising, which gives them a good mental development, giving them greater capability for solving many problems. Materials are constantly changed to give them a wider range of experiences.

We also give the puppies their first experience with many things that they will come in contact with once they have left us; Cars, trains, livestock, hoovers and many more things.
Of course we also socialise them with children and adults, including the postman and the vet!
Our puppies also go away crate trained, to enable them to have somewhere they feel safe. It being their place to go when they want to sleep or be left alone.

Gary and I believe a crate can be a good idea for a puppy

(if needed), but not a place to put an adult dog, because you

haven't put the time into their training, or given the puppy/adult

enough stimulation to prevent boredom

Once you have taken your puppy home, we want you to know that we are only a phone call way. And if for any reason you come to the decision that you can no longer look after your puppy, we would want him or her to come back to us.
There will also be opportunities for you to meet up with other Alfinmarsh owners on one of our gatherings. As you can see from the pictures, all the dogs have a great time when they come back. And Bella, Alfie, Mia and Jay jay love welcoming them back

JUST A DOG

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"

or "that's a lot of money for just a dog."

They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent,

or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"

but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought aobut by

"just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch

of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you probably understand

phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship,

trust, and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience

that make me a better person.

Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look

longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog"

but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,

the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts

away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that its' not "just a dog"

but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being

"just a man" or "just a woman."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog,"

just smile,

because they "just don't understand."
